Problem with Linksys BEFSR41 v4.3

Hello, I've recently tried helping a friend fix a problem with his router. He attempted to flash the router's firmware and I guess it got corrupted. He has a BEFSR41 v4.3 type router running on windows vista. Now I followed all these instructions here http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wired-Routers/Failed-firmware-upgrade-bricked-BEFSR41-v4-3/td-p/259744. I was wondering if there's a different firmware version I should use or point me in the right direction. His router managed to stop blinking when he did this but he still isn't able to connect to the internet.
The firmware that he is attempting to use is
FW_BEFSR41v4.3_2.00.4.7_20100120_code
but it seems to not work atm.
