Ow can I download krnl386dll.exe for free?

I have a Compaq Armada 4120 that I am using just for games. I need to get krnl386dll.exe to allow 16 bit color. Two weeks ago I looked this up and found a long thread about it with links.Now I am told that thread is over 6 months old and I can't seem to get to it. How can I do that.
Also,will the new version I download harm my Compaq? I am happy that it works and don't wish to mess it up.

used your windows 98 cd to find it

Sorry,I should have mentioned that I no longer have a windows 98 cd.I gave it away years ago when I gave away a computer.My only hope is to download it from
the internet on a newer computer. I can't put my Compaq on the internet either so I would have to burn the file to a floppy using my newer Windows computer
which has Windows 7 64 bit on it.
