What motherboard should I get for my new Pc build?

I am building my first pc soon and I am stuck on which motherboard to get I was going to get a asrock extreme 4 but i have heard that it doesnt perform with higher grade hardware, I plan to upgrade from a i5 3570k to a i7 sometime in the future.
