Surround Sound Set-Up Advice

my surround sound is connected to my pc but how will i download it so i cn hear sound

how is it connected to the pc? Did you set the soundcard output to match how the surround system is receiving it? (ie - if connected by SPDIF then set the soundcard output to digital)

What Surround system do you have? What surround sound codecs does it support (like Dolby, DTS)?

What soundcard do you have in the pc and what surround sound codecs does it support?
