hello, i am new to these forums and in need of some advice.

I am looking to upgrade my the first pc i built over three years ago.

I am just looking at getting a new cpu and mobo and also a gpu.

I am primarily a gamer.

I would like to be able to play skyrim bf3 etc on medium settings with an average resolution. Ideally i would like the system to be viable for another 2-3 years before i need another upgrade of these components.

Also i have never OC'ed but would not be against trying it if it was needed.

I have an expensive option and a cheaper option, and would like your thoughts, would they achieve my aims?

(i am using Novatech.co.uk as my site of choice, they were very good last time)

Expensive Option:

i5 2500k 168 GBP

I have the same GPU because i know that this is the most important bit of kit for good gaming performance.

Obviously the i5 would be better, but would the AMD achieve my aims?

Many thanks
