I have a p4 3.2ghz lga775 on a aBit GD8-M board,
1gig ram, Geforce 6600gt gfx card. Currently I am in need of serious upgrades, but where to start? Thinking of processor first then adding value ram. Or should i just scrap what I have and start with a barebones such as this one from TigerDirect?

Would my current processor even be upgradable to some more current 775 socket processors without getting another board?

Socket 775 is a dead end, I wouldn't even bother trying to get another processor for your system (the cost would be too much in terms of giving you the best bang for your buck).

The barebones kit you supplied looks like a good kit and has good reviews.

That kit looks pretty good but there is one word of caution: Diablotek PSUs are terrible - one of the worst on the market. Other than that the only thing I'd recommend with that build would be to swap the included PSU for a Corsair CX430, otherwise it's a pretty decent kit.
