Potential motherboard problem

My cooler (hyper 212+) must not be on too tight, or else the pc will not post, restarting every few seconds constantly. So now I have to have the backplate on looser than normal. Is this a motherboard problem? Or does the backplate have something to do with this? I really don't want this to turn into a real problem in the future. Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermind. It appears this is an issue with the asrock p67 extreme4 boards. Apparently aftermarket coolers can cause the memory error that I would get. I'm going to have to get some rubber washers or something, cause electrical tape isn't working.
