If it is a hub, you can see packets with your computer. If it is a router or a switch, you would need to tap into the cabling somewhere between his computer and the internet, because the router/switch will not let you see his packets.

You need a program installed on friends computer that will send the info to your computer. Or you have a fancy router that stores what sights it has been to.

Use cain and abel. but why do you want do it? Remember its illegal in most countries stealing info of another computer.

Cain & Abel is a password recovery utility that allows easy recovery of various kind of passwords by sniffing the network, cracking encrypted passwords using Dictionary, Brute-Force and Cryptanalysis attacks, recording VoIP conversations, decoding scrambled passwords, revealing password boxes, uncovering cached passwords and analyzing routing protocols.

That does not help in tracking which website is being search by my friend. i do not want to steal the password from my friend. i just would like to monitor the website that he is searching in the real time basis.
anyway thx u so much :)

Like I said before, he will have to be physically connected to one of the lines that the other computer uses in order to see packets not meant for him with wireshark or any other packet logging or sniffing tool.

Can we get admin to lock this thread? I'm not entirely sure this is legal...

I reported it to the admins, so if they think it's not alright, they will lock it.
