hello i am thinking of trading my 560ti sli for gigabyte 1.5gb 580 shold i?

I have those cards too. I wouldn't trade them for a single 580. From what I have read they equal or out perform a single 580 at 1080p resolutions so the only benefit would be not having to mess with sli's quirks. For me I am holding off until Nvidia's GTX 6xx series. Rumor is saying the GTX 660 should be around a GTX 580 performance wise. My plan is to go with a single GTX 670 (or what ever replaces the 570 spot) and call it a day.

What I ment is that your 2 GTX 560ti will out perform a single GTX 580 at 1080p res. So it is probably more of a downgrade to get the 580. You should wait until the 600 series and sell your 560tis and upgrade then

yer but then will the cards be worth anything. :(  :(

I'd say no. 560Ti will significantly outperform a single 580 in most situations. People talk about SLI quirks but in my experience, these are mostly a thing of the past. There are some situations in which a 580 will outperform 2*560Ti, but these are few and far between.
