Direct connect two 10G SFP+ ports?

in order to save the cost of fibre switch, could we connect 10G SFP+ port of a server and 10 SFP+ port of another storage server directly?

Try it. At the least it won't work. Have only ran 10G from switch to switch soooo..
Just make sure you switch the receive and transmit cables at one end.

Yes you can.
We successfully connect two Supermicro AOC-STGN-i2S (SFP+) using direct attach SFP+ passive cable.

i thought to use two SFP+to-LC converters and a crossed LC cable. that would be more expensive.

i have searched the internet and found that there is SFP+ direct attach copper cable. is it the one you have used.

do we need to cross send/receive signal?

pls advise. i have no experience in fibre networking.
