I have a acer travelmate 2420.
CPU: Celeron M 380 (1.65 Ghz,400 FSB, 1MB L2 cache)
RAM: 256 DDR2 (444 Mhz)
Q: I want to know which DDR2 ram is compatible with CPU, 1024 MB DDR2(533) or 1024MB(667 MHz).

More about : celeron 380 compability ddr2

Either will work. Your MOBO is what clocks the RAM and if it only supports 533, the 667 RAM will just clock out at 533.

http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Trave...

that specifies PC2-5300 for the Travelmate 2420
which would be 667

though the Acer specs show 400mhz
http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/Tr...

generally you can go to a couple higher speeds with your ram
depends on the mobo
usually Crucial mem finder is reliable
but calling tiger direct and ask their customer service (they are pretty good)
1-800-800-8300
dont have to buy from them
can just find out info
