DA078L Max Memory Support Help

I have this board http://microdream.co.uk/acer-x3200-da078l-boxer-07160-1-socket-am2-motherboard.html

And i currently got two 1gb sticks ram, 1gb per slot.
And want to upgrade to 8gb but dont wanna buy the ram and it not work.
It just seems odd that it says max ram supported 4gb, does that mean per slot? i find it odd that it will only support 4gb max when i can just toss in two 4gb chips.

Has anyone had this board and maybe tried it to see what happens?

Thanks for any help

2 gb per slot is all the board can utilize, due to it's bios and board chipset. So 4 gb total is the max ram you can use.
