Bought a new hp 630. Plugged it in and turned it on. After working on it a little while, the 'soon to hibernate' notice came on. Thought this was strange as it was already plugged in.
Then I noticed the light that indicates 'charging' was not lit. The machine hibernated and I wasn't able to power it up until I plugged in a 90W power supply - output 19.5v. (The power supply that came with the computer was 65W / output 18.5v)
The machine specs are:
CPU:
- Intel Core i3-370M
- 2.4GHz
- 3 MB L3 cache
Graphics:
- Intel HD Graphics
I'm wondering if.....
- the 65W power supply is shot
- I run the risk of damaging the computer with a 90W power supply.
Please help if you can.
