Good replacement for 5770 cross fire

Some one told me to ditch the 5770 cross fire and for go a 6870 or above is this really the right thing to do he said the power they consume and the heat they give off is not worth it he does on saying they are very inefficient cards. Should I keep the setup or let it go.

  1. the 5770 CF is right about where the 5870 was, so that isnt that much of an upgrade. I would look into a 6970, thats a nice upgrade form where you are.
The 5770 is actually a very good performer for its price range, but a single 6970 is much faster.
  2. If you are not experiencing any problems in game like low fps don't change your system. You don't have to change it just because someone says something about it. The 5770's were great cards and 2 of them were even better.
  3. my only compliant is one of my 5770's is really loud ad high GPU loads. Is there a better cooler I can get for my duel slot card? I have had the card for a year it's gotten louder with age.

Have you ever cleaned the cards? Dust buildup is one of the most common causes for this.

I have tried to clean it reapply thermal grease. The thing is still loud at full load the stock cooler just plain sucks. Where can I get a after market cooler?

Arctic and Thermaltake make some nice coolers. If you're in USA have a look on newegg.
