Intel's Quick Sync?

Last response: in CPUs

Trying to decide if it would be beneficial to buy a Intel Core i7 2820QM processor with QuickSync enabled on it. Im wanting to use it for high end multimedia design, so would need good graphics capabilities, but Intel claim that by using a processor with QuickSync would minimize the use for a graphics card?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with QuickSync and what there views are?

there's is a toms reveiw of gpu vs cpu vs quicksync transcoding covering image quality and speed, quicksync is quickest and has better IQ than gpu, but not quite as good as cpu I think is how it worked out, but it was very marginal to me.

but it depends on whether your software supports it.
