My Motherboard and RAM

This is my motherboard (to be): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130653

The specs say it has 4x240 pin memory slots and up to 32 GB of RAM.

SO... I want to put 8 GB of memory in. Would 2 x 4 GB work? I mean, if there are 4 RAM slots, and a maximum of 32 GB, it seems like the optimal set up would be sticks of 8 GB RAM, not 4. At the same time, I don't plan on upgrading past 8 GB.

  1. Hi. Yes 2 x 4GB would work.
  2. ^+1 Yes having two sticks allow for the memory to be run in dual channel mode which has better perfomance for reads/writes.
