Building a new gaming system, suggestions?

Current:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.0ghz
ASUS P5QC motherboard
HD 5830
HAF 922 mid tower case
4gb RAM, and honestly I have forgot what it is. Maybe DDR3 RAM, not sure.

I'm looking to build a rig in the price from $1200-2200 and is able to run games like Skyrim, BF3, and other graphics intensive games flawlessly on ultra. Or at least well on ultra. My current setup gets 15-20 fps on low -.-

I don't want to spend $2000 on hardware that will end up being overkill though, I'm not going to be overclocking hardcore or anything, nor will I need a ton of hardware for photoshop and video editing. Just video games and homework though.

  2. Hi painkille137

Are you going to be reusing your Case/PSU whatever...

    If not here goes...

COOLER MASTER Storm Scout $69.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811119196 (I just love this case)

    SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 $159 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6822152185

    G.SKILL Sniper Low Voltage Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) $44.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231461

    BIOSTAR TZ68A+ LGA 1155 Intel Z68 $109 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813138319

    Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz $224.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115072

    EVGA 03G-P3-1584-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 3072MB $589 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130655

    CORSAIR H100 $100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181017

    OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB $189

    Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W $129 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182188

Just some suggestions, I wouldn't use the intel SRT on the Z68 motherboard, I would just install OS and some games, then use the HDD for Media.

Comes out to about $1620 +tax and stuff, and this machine will chew through whatever you feed it. You could spend more on a fancier Motherboard but why bother.
