Radeon 5670 for Battlefield 3 ?

Pretty excited with the upcoming release of Battlefield 3. I never play games so I don't plan on investing lots of money on a GPU (about 75$).

I was told before that for a casual gamer the Radeon 5670 would be alright. Will it be alright for Battlefield 3? I don't mind not getting the best details at all.

My system: Antec 300, ASUS P8Z68-V, i5 2500k, 8 GB DDR3, Antec 620W Gamer, WD Blue 1TB.

The 5670 would be alright?

Thanks!

just read the System requirements for the BF3 Beta.

the Recommended is a Nvidia GTX 560 or a AMD HD 6950 with 1 GB of RAM.

I always try to at least have the recommended for a game in my rig before I play, just a habit I got in after I had a system chock on a game that it surpassed minimum but did not meet recommended on.

Yes, you'll be able to play BF3. From what I have read, that game benefits a lot from a strong CPU, which you have. If you think you will play games more often in the future, I would suggest getting a HD6770 or HD6790 instead. It's a little more (~$110; $90 if you play the rebate game and win). Here's a HD6670 with GDDR5 that is $80 if you play the rebate game and win, $90 otherwise: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I would wait a month or two till the end of november...there supposed to come out with the hd 7800 line-up. They're supposed to be way faster and efficient than current cards, and they're only supposed to cost about $200 :D

The 7000 series will not come this year. It would be worthwhile to wait for the next architecture if you can, but if you want the card for bf3 now would be logical for the relative future.

All of the HD 7000 series cards have been delayed until Q1 2012 at the earliest. If you really need a card right now, best to buy now. Only wait if you have a card that can deliver acceptable performance until next year.

really....I thought that they delayed the hd 7900 series til Q1 2012, not the 7800 series
because the 7800 series is still supposed to have gddr5 memory, but the new type of memory(supposed to be in the 7900 series) 'xdr2' is delayed because of issues with manufacturing, so they will be released later. :heink:
