Does asrock z77 pro3 motherboard require both 24 pin connector and 4 pin connect

Hello,

does asrock z77 pro3 motherboard require both 24 pin connector and 4 pin connector to start because my new build is not getting to POST

my system

i3 3220
asrockz77 pro 3 mobo
corsair 4 gb ram
wd 1tb hard disk
525w cooler master extreme2

dude, you need 8pin cpu pin (4+4 actually) and 24 pin connected....

for core i3 less than 125 watt, it is safe to connect only 4pin cpu, but it wont work that way on some cases

525w cooler master extreme2 is old tech unreliable psu. afaik, CM was a bad psu maker in the past. but it is getting better atm. you might want to replace it with corsair or xfx if you have no other solution to power on you pc
