[Gigabyte] Fail to boot after new M/B

Looks like the connection to establish power isn't working, i.e. the power button. Get a standard jumper (or buy one if you need one) and put it on in place of the power cable on the motherboard. Only leave it on for a second. If that works, you've answered your question: it is the case. If it doesn't work, there's something wrong. Either the motherboard isn't working, or it isn't registering the CPU.
 
unplug machine. remove all wiring. open booklet that came with your motherboard. look carefully at where the wires go. (what wires go where )......... the front PS/HD led/RST wires all have little arrows on the back of them. hard to see ( on the flat ends that connect to the board) arrow is positive wire.

don't forget power wires. 42pin and 8/4pin to mobo. make sure cpu cooler fan is plugged in right header.

also, does that motherboard support that processor? I would look at that first. needs a BIOS update maybe?...... but won't be able to do it with that processor because machine won't boot with it?
