Sounds like your new card is bad. What kind of power supply do you have? If your PSU isn't quite up to powering both cards that can cause issues, though usually not BSOD. If you are overclocking either of your cards, return them to stock clocks, an unstable overclock can cause bluescreen errors. If you are overclocking your CPU, try returning it to stock clocks. Once again your OC may not be entirely stable, or the second card may be pushing your PSU to its limits, and can't support two cards with a CPU overclock.

Only other thing I can think of is to hook up both cards and try reinstalling the drivers. Driver problems can cause a BSOD, but since you seem to be getting it only when using the new card, I doubt that would help. If none of these things work or apply to you, all you can do is RMA the card.

i installed after loading cards, link doesn't work for driver sweeper. i will note that when i first installed 7 i had it working for about 1 hr. next day it started this. only thing i did was update windows.

Again, make sure you install the latest drivers from AMD, you don't have to download driver sweeper as you can mess with drivers and get a real issue and lose Windows
if problem still presets, take off the old GPU and leave the new one and test it individually and see what happens

So when you use the new card by itself it doesn't cause any problem?

no it's the old that has no problems. do you think since my old card ran on windows xp first might have anything to do with it. using new one now might crash as i'm writing.

Did you try driver sweeper? did it do anything?

If not then most likely you got a faulty card, RMA or return it.

The driver sweeper download works for me BUT whatever, I uploaded it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HPXCXLQL

Try it as a last resource under safe mode and if it's still crashing RMA or return it, remember under safe mode for it to ble able to delete all files.
