How to set up ide hard drive as a slave

Hello,
how do i slave a ide hard drive to a ide hard drive and do i need to format.

Windows 7 in achi mode lets you add a hardrive while it's running, and it will configure it as a secondary drive automatically. It should only ask you to format it if it's new. Set the jumpers first to "slave" mode; some master or slave settings are right on the hardrive label; others are listed online. It's a simple procedure, nothing too complicated.
