Intel cpu upgrade

Hello, well I have a intel i5-2500 and I want to overclock and the intel i5 2500k is only 20-25 dollars more so does anyone know if: 1. People will buy it? 2. Where to sell it. Also is pc case gear the best site to buy individual parts? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  1. Hello GrammarNazi;

    Is the i5-2500 been used already? You might need to mark the price down to find a seller. Most everyone wants the 2500K.
    What motherboard do you have? Besides the 2500K you need a MB that also supports overclocking.
  2. http://pccasegear.com/ is a good site for PC parts.
    To check prices: http://www.pricespy.com.au/ is handy.
  3. Yeah it is used but only for 1 month, and my motherboard is MSI H61M-P23 Micro ATX board.
  4. Well if you want to overclock, then you also need to buy a new motherboard with either a P67 or Z68 chipset. Your motherboard has a H61 chipset which does not have overclocking abilities like the other more expensive chipsets I've mentioned.

    As for where to sell used parts... the easy answer is eBay.
