Power Supply Question

My computer has been locking up at random after being on for some time & was wondering if it could be my Power Supply ? (locking up as in system freeze , no mouse pointer movement)

System Specs
Win 98
Athlon 650 slotA 160 meg ram
Diamond Viper V550 video card
Sound Blaster Live sound card
US Robotics 56k modem
48x cd drive
12x10x32 Creative CD-Rewritable

(160 watt Enermax Power Supply)

Wondering if this power supply is the culprit & if I need to upgrade to a 250 or a 300watt ??

It is possible that you may need to upgrade the power supply. 160W does not cut it for Athlon systems. First though, check to make sure all the device drivers are up to date.

Actually your 160W power supply is less that half of what it should be. Get at least a 250W that is recommed by AMD.

Wow a 160w is that combined continues power rating or the actual full rating? What type of power supply is it and model. There are many power supplys that have a combined rating of 160watts that are actually a 300watt. Check AMD's site for the rating on your power supply.
