New 5850 upgrading from my 8800 gt

installed with no problems. turned the system on... monitor did nothing.. turned it off and on... no signal
(could hear windows sounds tho)

Tried both my vga to div converters and both of my vga cables with no success

plugged the 8800 back in and it started right up.

5850s stuffed.

Brought my whole system in to the local pc shop for them to test it and it was working on their monitor fine

They told me that it didn't go in the top dvi port but worked in the bottom one after restarting.... told me that they all ports should be working when i install the drivers ( is that all?)

Went home plugged it.... no signal as before...

:fou:  What should i try now ?

System

550 watt Aywun psu

Q6600

4g ddr2

please help!!

yes i did but like i said the shop got it going with my system there cables and monitor... but my cables and monitor only work with the 8800 and not the 5850 it doesn't make sense. Is there different types of vga to div converters? or any reason this would happen?

the monitor is a 192E Philips 19" if that has any thing to do with it.

Perhaps test with a different monitor to see if that is the problem.

Did you see it work at the local PC shop? Maybe they lied to you.
