Hello guys, I'm planning to changed my display card from GT430 to GTX460. The question is with my current spec pc can it run most of the new games with high resolution or not ? I'm currently don't wanna changed the whole system as my system still working in good condition. Or maybe you all can recommend me some display card that is above Gt430. My budget is currently max for 200 USD. This is my current spec:
1.Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz
2.DDR3 ram KINGSTON 1333mhz 4Gb X4=16GB
3.Motherboard Asus P5P43TD PRO
4.HDD Seagate 500GB X2 unit =RAID 0
5.Samsung 2TB X4 unit
6.CM Silent Pro M600W
7.CM HAF932
8.LITEON DVD Writter IDE 2 unit.
9.CM V6 GT Cpu fan

What do you guys think? Can it get max setting for games if i changed only my display?

You are not getting much of an upgrade going from a 430 to a 460 it's a waste of your money you are almost doing a sideways upgrade.

Galaxy 56NGH6HS4IXZ GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $229.99 and a $35 rebate brings it down to $194.99 and it comes with a free game.

This would be a good upgrade.

ZOTAC ZT-50303-10M GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $229.99 with a $30 rebate to bring it down to $199.99 and free shipping.

Also another good upgrade. Both of these will work with your power supply and give you a noticable performance boost.

Yes I would agree the GTX460 is a lot better than the GT430.And the GTX560ti would also be a good upgrade.

If your trying to play some of the newer games your going to have to O.C. your CPU at least past 3ghz.At 2.5ghz is causing a potential bottleneck.

From whats been generally accepted on the web, two GTS 250's in Sli roughly equal the performance of a single GTX 285, which the GTX 460 beats (but only barely). Now, as someone who owns a computer outfitted with a pair of GTS 250's in Sli, I can say performance in most of my games (Current popular FPS' mainly, Battlefield Bad company, Metro 2033, Crysis 2, etc) Is pretty good @ 1920x1080 res with mostly medium high/high settings.

So, a GTX 460 being a touch more powerful than my two cards combined, with DX11 features to boot would be a decent upgrade. Though, as others have said there are other cards out there now that are both newer and better.

If you're not a die hard nVidia patron, I'd even suggest looking at AMD's offerings, like the 6870 or 6850, most 6870's fall under the $200 price point and, as seen in the latest SBM article, provide very good performance in most games with high details at full 1920x1080 resolution.

The GTX 460 cost around 150$ these days and the GTX 560 ti go around 190-200$ with rebates these days so if you're willing to pay 50$ more, I would highly suggest going with the GTX 560, you'll get more for your money.

Thanks for all the reply untill now....after serious consideration comment from you guys i think i will get the GT560 ti if i can tomorrow and yes my budget is $200 max. But regarding OC like purplestank said... i don't have any experience on it and my board doesn't have any crossfire or SLI system, can it perform well without these technology
(sli or crossfire & oc)?

Well the GTX560ti will get bottlenecked by that CPU.So you might actually either want to look into O.C.ing more.O.C.ing is rather simple once you understand it and it would be good to give that CPU a nice boost.

The Asus board you have might have an option in the bios to select an overclock option and you don't have to fool around with the different settings , so take a look in the bios and see what's available. Also if the board you have only has one pci-e slot then sli is out of the question , if you were considering that.

1st of all i would like to say THANKS for replying my question and give so many value info and SORRY for the late reply cos i was outstation untill now....

Guys, i 've been thinking that i think i should make a new rig , i mean powerful rig than upgrading my system, been thinking a lot about it cos i think if too many money on my current system it's just won't go to far with it,and at the same time i got an ofer from ym friend to buy a GTS450 forUSD 35 only, so i buy and installed it and so far it's running ok,

but is it just me or did i see more clear when i using this GTS450 for watching blue ray film? and for games i testing using Starcraft 2 at ultra setting all run smoothly, is just for movie blue ray film that i didn't expect to be more sharper or is it just my imagination?

What are YOU talking about? lol

If you want to upgrade the whole system you can but it will be far more costly than just buying an new video card and O.C.ing the CPU.
