Hello,I am building my first PC. I am trying to sort through all the specs on graphics cards. What is the difference between DDR & GDDR memory? So far only been told GDDR is faster.
Sometimes on graphic cards the "G" is dropped. For example, a "Radeon HD 6950 2GB DDR RAM" and a "Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR RAM" are the same.
Just make sure you are selecting a card with DDR5 or GDDR5 RAM since the higher the number is, the faster the RAM (sometimes referred to a VRAM - video RAM).
