Gaming Build (Need help)

Hi, I'm new to computer building and I was wondering if I could get some advice to my build.

Case:
COOLER MASTER HAF 922 (89$)

Mobo:
ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard (125$)

CPU:
2500k i5 (225$)

GPU:
EVGA SuperClocked 012-P3-1572-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 (356$)

RAM:
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) (53$)

hdd:
Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (150$)

PSU:
Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W Continuous@40°C, 80Plus Bronze Certified,Modular (130$)

Optical Drive:
ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM (20$?)

OS:
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM (100$)

Total is 1270 USD shipped

I'm building the system with expansion in mind so I got a 2 PCI e slot and a hefty power supply. I would also like to cut down the cost to 1100$ but keeping a similar performing GPU. I'm also wondering if I would need some sort of aftermarket cooling for this current set up as I'm not really planning on OCing.

Any help would be appreciated :D

  3. No problem.
  4. 1000W is overkill even for SLI. Get 550-650W for single GPU or 850W If you plan to SLI

And finally get this 750GB HDD which is cheaper

  5. Case:
    NZXT 210 source (50$)

    CPU:

    PSU:
    Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W Continuous@40°C, 80Plus Bronze Certified,Modular (130$)

    Optical Drive:

    OS:
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM (100$)

    TOTAL SHIPPED: 1137$

Would I need to worry about aftermarket cooling with this spec? I'm not planning to OC. Also, should I wait for black friday to get the parts for some discounts?

And as for the 1k Power supply, I looked at some of the 850W modulars and the price difference is like 10$.

  9. Build is pretty good but your power supply is not. Do you plan to SLI?
  10. Yes I do! :) What seems to be the problem with it?

It's a Rosewill PSU, it's not all that reliable. Go with something such as Seasonic, Corsair, or Antec. Also, 1000W is overkill even for SLI x2, it'll be perfect for 3 way SLI tho
  12. So, what wattage am I looking at for a pair of 570's sli?
  13. 750-800W
  14. Oh Okay. Thanks!

One more thing though: You think I should wait for Black Friday to order my parts on Newegg for some possible deals?
