X4 840 for budget gaming build?

hey everyone, its late here, and I'm tired, so I'll keep it quick

my birthdays comin up and I'm asking my parents to buy me a cpu for my budget gaming computer, the x4 840 is for sale at msy for $104, and I was wondering if that would b a decent cpu for it? I have a gts 250, and though I don't think it will, would it cause a bottleneck? and if I upgraded the gpu in the future how far up could I go before a bottleneck?

No it will not be a bottleneck, and down the road you could upgrade to something like a Radeon 6870/GTX 560. Those would be a great upgrade and run fine with that CPU.
