Why does the watch on my computer start going faster?

Hello I have buggy device drivers and I had a problem with te clock on my computer where it started running really fast. Shoul I throw out my computer or is there something I can do to fix it. I think it has something to do with the mother board

if the mb a few years old unplug it from the wall and change the cmos battery. then clear the cmos jumpers. it the cmos battery and bios that holds the clock info when the pc is off. most os and windows now check the bios clock time with a server online.
as pc get older it not uncomon for the cmos clock to speed up or slow down if it within 10-15 min then i would keep on using the pc till it dies.

Run a good anti-virus and then run MalwareBytes. If that doesn't solve the problem make sure your drivers and bios are up to date.
