Use RAM with higher voltage then the previous one

Hi,
I was using a ram dimm on a laptop with 1.5v and now I putted a dimm with 1.8v.. Will this affect anything?

Depending on your CPU/motherboard it could be very bad. You should stick with 1.5v.

But in CPU-Z in SPD it shows 1.8v for the old dimm (but if I google about the old dimm it says 1.5v in the specs sheet). It also (in cpu-z) shows 1.8v to the new one.. Any idea why it is like that?
