Future Investments for BF3

Hi,

I just want some advice on the investment I will soon make for both a monitor and a graphics card, for getting Battlefield 3

I am sick and tired of 60HZ refresh rate monitors, so I will be switching to most likely Acer HS244HQ bmii. A 3d monitor with the led backlit, glossy (I have a dark room),120hz refresh rate and most importantly supports my current gpu Ati 5870.

My 2nd investment will be the gpu,

I was happy with my Ati 5870 for one full year, but ever since I started playing BC2, I got bluescreens, driver issues.
Honestly, I am just tired of the bluescreens and driver problems.. I picked Ati for the best performance/price ratio.........Now I want something performing slightly better , but without any issues whatever.

Should I wait until the release of BF3 , if there are any gpu's from nvidia or ati?

Currently I have 399 dollars for the investment ( not enough I know) But which step should I take first?

Anyone switched from nvidia to ati like me, and had game crashes alot? Or the opposite?

(Edit:Already know nvidia is makign drivers specifically for BF3 from the blog)
Thanks

getting a 3d monitor isnt a good idea becuase it will cost so much that you wont have much for your gpu if can get a cheap gpu it wont play well on the 3d monitor. maybe you should get a cheaper monitor ($200) and another 5870 and cf or try get new drivers.there wont be any new cards soon.

and not all ati cards or nvidia cards will have issues it would probably be a specific card.

If you want to play games in 3D then go with a nVidia solution. Also, the maximum frame rate will be 60 FPS; it'll be 60 FPS per eye.

AMD does not develop 3D drivers for their video cards. You must purchase those 3D drivers separately.

Last time I even bothered looking at how to setup 3D for a Radeon card, there was a 15 step process.

If you simply want to play games in normal 2D to get up to 120 FPS, then you shouldn't have any issues with AMD or nVidia as long as it is powerful enough to push that many frames.

i don't think I made myself clear, except watching movies, I will never play 3d games..

I know my eye can detect 120 frames per second , and I prefer it as it is much more fluid.

The ati 5000 and 6000 series support it natively now..

so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on a gpu, that I could get 120FPS capped on vsync on battlefield 3 , with high settings low AA

I know the game is not out, so any benchmark would be hard to find

for 120 fps you will need 3 way sli of gtx 580s(i think so).by the way i play metro 2033 on a 1200p(27 inch)with a single gtx 580 3 gb version and i get average 40~50 fps wich is very playable so why do you need 120 FPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ow god thats terrible... I don't know why but I get avg 110 FPS on Bad Company 2 right now.. Maybe cuz of my low res (1650x1080)

The thing is , I am not someone who plays all newest high end graphic games..

I still play tf2,counter strike source etc.. Which I need 120 fps for

battlefield bad company 2 is one of the best optimised games out there.getting 110 fps on 1650x1080 is not a big deal.i saw a video on youtube in which a boy played BFBC2 with i3 graphics on a laptop and i think a radeon hd 5870 is 1000 times better
than i3 integrated graphics.and if you want 120 fps in games like BFBC2,CS source,TF2
than 2X5870 will easily score above 140 fps(minimum IMO)

lol this topic has gotten way out of hand....

anyway , i am not looking for performance.. already getting 400 fps on tf2..

guess the monitor I first picked is the best one..
and I will get a gtx570 when bf3 releases..tired of 5870 bc2 dirver issues
