Hey there,

So im gonna be upgrading my current computer but with a budget of around $200. My current specs are:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250
GPU: On-board 4200
Motherboard: Foxconn MATX AM3
PSU: 300w generic power supply
RAM: 6GB
Monitor: 23in 1920x1080

I play games like assassin's creed (all of them), Crysis 1 and 2, and Battlefield 3.
Any ideas?

In what way is your pc lacking?

How much ram do you have?

In general, a graphics card update will give you the most performance increase.
But, your 300w psu will not be enough to power a graphics card that needa auxiliary pci-e 6 pin power connectors.

If you go the graphics upgrade route, you will have to split that $ 200 onto something like $60 for a psu and $140 for a discrete graphics card.

If you only have 2gb of ram, I would spend the first $25 on that.

$200 I doubt its possible to get real good image quality and frame rates at that resolution since you need to change
power supply
graphcs card [ after first checking your mb has a pci-e x 16 slot ]

CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 V2 430W $36.50 inc shipping

SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB $129 [ after rebate]

Upgrading the processor to a quad core will add a boost too , but its not in your budget
