Hello,can pentium 4 swapped to core 2 duo e7500?
My CPU Type is Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz.. CPU Sockets/Slots 1 LGA775.. Thx..

Earlier LGA 775 socket motherboards did not support c2d and other ones that did do not support smaller die size CPU's and so on! Long lived socket with complex CPU support!

Second rolli59's post above mine. Early P4 775 motherboards typically only support P4 or P4D processor's. The Core 2 boards are typically backwards compatible, but having a Core 2 generation board with a P4 installed is pretty rare.

That said, if the OP can provide a motherboard model number and manufacturer we can probably give a 100% real answer instead of guessing.

As the others have said it is really up to the board that you have. Many of the early 915 and 925 chipset based boards will not support any of the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo or Intel Core 2 Quad processors. The 945 and 965 chipset based boards can support some Intel Pentium® 4 and Intel Pentium D processors along with many of the 65nm Intel Core 2 Duo and Intel Core 2 Quad processors. Many of the 35 and 45 chipset based boards can support both the 65nm and 45nm based Intel Core 2 Duo and Intel Core 2 Quad processors but may not work with many of the Intel Pentium 4 processors and some of the Intel Pentium D processors. In the end the best thing to do is check with the manufacturer of your computer/board to see what the board will support.
