Hello, I have 8GB of Kingston ram put into my system but it only reads 4GB, sometimes this can be changed when I remove and reinsert the ram, but after awhile it just goes back down to 4GB. Anyone out there with a similar issue? Anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks

Mobo = Asus P8P67
BIOS = American Megatrends Inc, 0402
Ram = 4 x 2GB
CPU = Intel Core i5- 2500
GFX = Nvidia GeForce GTX 460

Regarding the ram, I have switched them in the different slots in all the possible combinations, so the RAM are fine. As well the mobo was the one Asus made a recall for due to some issues with their USB 2 ports I believe.

Thanks

the memory controller is on the processor , not the mb, so unless there's a physical problem with the RAM slot
you either have faulty RAM [ which does not appear to be the case ]

or you have a processor thats only intermittently working

Or you have bad mb drivers . Did you install all the drivers from the disk?

Or you need to try an updated BIOS
