My sister is looking for a good laptop for photoshop and other similar software, but I am new to laptops so I was looking for some input on what to get. I bought a Clevo from sager a few years ago for a good price and it still works great so thats what I recommended to her. Is that good advice? She was also looking at macs because the guys at best buy were pressuring her and saying that it was far better than anything else, but if it is anything like desktops the macs are ridiculously overpriced. Thanks for the input.

For photoediting, you'll want a laptop with a quad-core and a high end GPU. Macs are overpriced for what you get. When you buy a Mac, you are buying status and an operating system that is supposed to be 'easier' to use. If she wants one, fine, but a windows based laptop can perform just as well at photo editing as a Mac, as it comes down to hardware (and sure, the OS may be optimized a little better, but that doesn't play as big a role in this as I would think).

Is there a laptop size/weight that she prefers?
