  2. HDD prices have gone up that 500 build that you listed would cost higher now.
  3. One way of dealing with high [ only temporary] hard drive prices might be to get an SSD .
    A small[ish] model for a boot drive would let you install windows and some games now , and in a month when things return to normal then you will probably have $50 for a 1 terabyte hard drive

    right now, a 120 GB SSD is similarly priced to a 1 TB HDD.

    what this means is you probably will go with a smaller hard drive and step down on either the processor or step back on the GPU to cover the difference and stay in budget.
