I have a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-MA785GM-US2H) that will not boot from the USB or the DVD unless I unplug the HD.

RAM: 4mb DDR2 PC2 6400
PSU: Antec 400W

I have disabled the onboard video and am using a GeForce video card.

Once the system boots into debian I can access the USB ports from GParted.

I've upgraded the BIOS to the F12f version ... this has me baffled.

After you update the bios, do you go to reset the boot order? Becasue the pc will set for default to bot HDD first after update the bios.
