Is my Intel Dg41Cn mobo (775) stopping the use of hibernate?

Hello,
Built a very simple desktop- Intel DG41cn socket 775 w/ core2 duo. I cant enable hibernate- is this a motherboard issue?? Intel wont provide support any longer. THNX for any help

How did you determine that the hibernate function is disabled? Have you checked the bios settings? I disabled hibernate in windows 7 to save disk space, and can still use sleep mode when powering down.

When I look into the bios , it only references PCMI or whatever and doesnt seem to offer standby and hibernate. I am using windows XP pro and do not run any gaming , strictly internet and email . Many inquiries out there suggest that there is no fix - and of course MS wont support Xp any more. Appreciate any help
