I'm about to ship a computer and it has a sealed liquid CPU cooler. I want to leave the cooler installed for the shipping company, and am planning on buying a plastic LGA 1366 socket cover. Is this necessary, and if so is this a good item? I think it saying LGA 775 after saying LGA 1366 is a typo:

(they have a whole separate page for LGA 775 socket cover.)

That is a LGA 1366 socket cover (pictured anyways) and the LGA775 one went over the metal bracket while LGA1366, 1155 and 2011 go under the metal bracket.

So if its installed does that mean you will not have the water block on? If so its a great idea to have this cover on the socket without the CPU in of course to prevent any damage the the pins.
