Using These Two Sets Together? Tags: Memory Latency Patriot Last response: December 28, 2012 5:43 PM in Memory Share Cerb3rus December 28, 2012 4:05:32 PM Alright so a buddy of mine bought a 8gb (2x4gb) set of Vengeance Memory and got a free set of Patriot G2 8gb (2x4) memory for free with his motherboard purchase. The question is, could he possibly use both sets together in his computer? Specs are: Vengeance : DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) • Timing 8-8-8-24 • Cas Latency 8 • Voltage 1.5V Patriot G2: DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) • Timing 9-9-9-24 • Cas Latency 9 • Voltage 1.5V The only thing I could see is the CAS latency being the only issue. More about : sets mc_creeper December 28, 2012 5:43:15 PM First: It's not recommended to mismatch ram Second: CAS Latency and timings are different which could cause instability. I would recommend the Corsair Ram and use the Patriot ram in a different system or sell it. Overall: Yes, but rather use the Corsair alone. Can't find your answer ? Ask !
