Question on Sabertooth 990FX R 2.0

There's a Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 on my local Craigslist at a good price. I do have an FX 8320 I picked up cheap during a holiday sale and was wondering if the mb will run this cpu. I read somewhere else the mb needs a BIOS update for the piledriver cpus. Will I be able to update this board BIOS using the 8320 or do I need to install a Phenom cpu to update the BIOS and then reinstall the Piledriver? Thanks in advance for your response.

You can update with the piledriver installed but in some cares the system will not boot at all in that situation you need to use the phenom to update it.
If you already have a phenom installed in the motherboard update it now, this will make sure that you do not face any problems while installing piledriver.

I dont have an extra AMD cpu. I'm going to contact a buddy of mine to see if he does. The price is just too good to let this mb go. Thanks again for your response.

I read on another thread I can flash the BIOS with only a power supply plugged onto the motherboard. I'm doing that. Thanks to all.
