1600 vs 1866, are 5$ worth it?

Ripjaws x 1600
G. Gkill sniper 1866

Just simply put, if anyone has experience with either one and how they perform, would love your input. This is going to be a gaming rig, specs are:

Case Antec Three Hundred Illusion
CPU Intel Core i5-3570K
Cooling Fan COOLER MASTER Hyper 212
MotherBoard GIGABYTE GA-Z77x-D3H

Memory F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (was my first choice, then got swayed by a different post, maybe get the snipers... )

GPU SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition
PSU CORSAIR CX Series TC650 650W Power Supply
Hard Drive Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB

Just want to know if you good folks can help me make the best choice. I will be over clocking, but only lightly, also the graphics card, I need a little bit of a push to do a 7950, anyone want to push me please =). Thank you!

More about 1600 1866 worth
  1. Quoting intel4eva from another post:

IMO priorities for RAM are as follows

    1. max out all slots
    2. max capacity
    3. min latency
    4. frequency

    I agree with his opinion.

    Linky to the other post:
  2. Better quality yet cheaper, and made with faster RAM chips than either:
  3. Ok if overclocking and you need the extra mhz to be able to get ram near 1600 then its woth it if not ocing then its hardly worth it as the diff you would never be able to tell.

Overclocking, Yes, you'll like the sniper ram.

No Overclocking, don't go with the faster RAM. Imo, go with a lower latency RAM.

Ignore brynal, Idk where he got that conclusion from. That RAM has an higher CAS latency and that makes it slower than both of the G.Skill options.

I'd recommend this. Low Latency, Low Voltage, 1600Mhz.
