Approximate Purchase Date: Within two weeks, trying to get some Black Friday savings.

Budget Range: Around $1000. Could go to $1200, but it'd really have to be worth it. Maybe a little bit of future-proofing if possible.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Internet, School, Movies/Music

Parts Not Required: Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers/Headphones, Antec PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371009, have XP but I want to purchase Windows 7.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg

Country: PNW, USA

Parts Preferences: Probably Intel/NVIDIA for CPU/GPU

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No, prefer one better card

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Had a friend run through a pretty basic system, I'll include the links below. I don't *need* to spend $1000, just saying that's my ballpark price, with the possibility of going to $1200 if it's *really* worth it. I'd like to get input on this build, and other suggestions. If better (but more expensive) parts are recommended, if you could give a bit of reasoning that would help me out. Will also be purchasing aftermarket CPU heatsink/cooler. I'm a computer enthusiast but I don't know as much as I'd like to, so I'm deferring to you guys here! Thank you in advance!

MOBO: Edit Update - Product my friend suggested is not compatible with the CPU, so looking for a good one here.

Solution
i like how school is only 3rd priority :)
that mobo is not compatible with 2500k
u need to look for socket 1155 mobos, good brands Asus, Asrock, Gigabyte and late MSI
CPU is good as it gets ..also look if u have miocrocenter close by
with savings from mobo and hopefully cpu u can bump up to GTX 570
and ur PSu is good to go even if u decide to get another one later on
that RAM is good also u'll need an aftermarket cooler for ur CPU if u plan on Ocing it and it could interfere with tall RAM heatsinks .. so go for lowprofile ones

There are a couple more ways to future proof this system:
1) If you plan to SLI up the PSW to a 750W so you can add another GPU down the line when performance goes down
2) boost the motherboard to this one as well, if you want

@ Emelth please pay attention to the posts .. his PSu is 850W
and mobo does not need to be boosted it's X58 it need's to be socket 1155 comatible .. also that RAm will interfere with Hyper 212+
I just wish people would pay attention to this kind of things
anyways
@ OP
Antec 300 for $35 seems like a great deal to me
also get cooler for ur CPU ... Xigmatech gaia is on sale for $10 after MIR on newegg till 31st
look for deals and u might be able to fit GTX 570 in ur budget
I'm trying to do the same :)
