Wi fi connection on mobile phone

Hello,
I have a sony ericsson xperia x 10 mini phone, i cant seem to access the internet on my phone when im at my home but i could access the internet when i was at my partners house. i have the wi fi symbol in the top left hand side on my phone but it has a question mark by it, when i went into wi fi settings it is asking me for a wireless password but i dont know what this is. can anyone help me?
