The asrock extreme 4 is a good value, recommended by many on this website. If you get a regular non K i5 or i7, you can save about $60 going with a B75 or H77 chipset motherboard. Here's one cooler:

Microcenter will discount the motherboard by $40 with the 3570k/extreme 4 combo purchase, but it's in stores only.

o1die are there any other boards in that price range that are better, and i like the 3570k because that fits mt $$$ range.

Also what low profile ram would be a good match?

Sorry for all the questions.

More board choices:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... (basic board for one video card)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... (some folks will only use asus)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... (sli capable, comes with adapter)

Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... (slightly slower timings, good for overclocking)

Lots of good ram out there. I've been in samsung's fab one facility in austin; very high tech. You can also go with kingston, corsair, gskill, patriot, or crucial. 1.5 volt or 1.35 is recommended by Intel.
