Trying to choose a motherboard to fit with my future upgrade plans can be kinda overwhelming... there are so many different options and I'm still a bit new at PC building so I don't entirely understand what every single specification means. This PC is purely for gaming and nothing else (demanding games like Far Cry 3 and BF3). But this is what I'm looking for in a MB:
- LGA1155 socket / Ivy Bridge i5 compatible
- PCI-E 3.0x16 support
- AMD Crossfire (only 2 cards, no interest in ever doing 3 or 4)
- SATA 3 (6GB/s)
That's what I know I want. I don't care as much whether max ram capacity is 16gb or 32gb, 2 slots or 4 slots. I also want the fastest performance from my SSD, which is why I'm looking for SATA III (seems to mostly be standard anymore) but I don't know if there are any other factors of a MB that determine how fast an SSD performs.
I would like to say price isn't an issue, but it kinda is. But still, I'm not one to settle for less than the best, so I will dish out the extra dough if it's truly worth it. So don't worry about price, just point me to what's best for these features I'm looking for.
