Hi everyone...thought I would post the specs of a new system I am planning on building to see if anyone had any suggestions. I'm pretty much at my price point now. I would consider swapping similarly price equipment:

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next week

Budget Range: ~$1000-1100 before taxes after rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Lightroom, MS Office/Internet, Premier Pro

Parts Not Required: Mouse, Keyboard, Monitors (I have 2 24" 1920x1080)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: ncix.com

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: Intel Core i5

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 2 @ 1920x1080

Additional Comments:

Here is what I've built so far:
Intel Core i5 2500K Quad Core Unlocked Processor LGA1155 3.3GHZ Sandy Bridge 6MB - $219.79

Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 ATX LGA1155 Z68 - $149.99 + $10 MIR

Bitfenix Shinobi Window ATX - $59.99

LG GH22NS70 Super Multi 22X SATA DVD - $18.99

Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 Windforce 820MHZ 1GB 4.2GHZ - $149.99 + $20 MIR

XFX 750W PRO750W Core Edition Single Rail ATX - $84.99 + $30 MIR

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB 3.5IN 16MB Cache SATA3 - $99.98

Crucial M4 SSD Micron C400 128GB - $197.01

Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 - $35.99

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64BIT SP1 DVD OEM - $95.79

Note that I have considered swapping the Crucial M4 with a Mushkin or some other drive. Looking for the best bang for the buck. Right now the M4 is out of stock at NCIX.

Thanks,

AB

Change the RAM.
Stick with the SSD. (or get another good one in its place)

Kingston ram is... iffy. Same with Mushkin. Get Corsair, Crucial, GSKill or OCZ. The price difference is not that great.

People have been complaining that cheap SSDs have been going on the blink, thought i have never experianced this myself I wouldnt want to risk it when shelling out around $200 (so i didnt, got an OCZ one instead)

OK...I've changed the RAM to G.Skill Ripjaws X F3

I'm also looking at the Mushkin Chronos 120GB Deluxe SSD. From what I've read the Sandforce issues have been fixed?
