External sound card?

Hows it going, I am looking for a good external sound card since I have no space due to SLI for an internal. I know the ASUS Essence One is nice but the thing cost way to much for a sound card. Thanks appreciate it.

Sorry I want to spend near 300, the thing is I am worried that having a real tek hd integrated card will mess up my 3D gaming and 3D movie watching. Am I just being paranoid and should stick with the real tek or just go for the essence one if I want good sound? Thank you.

300 dollars? pounds?

its a bit of a personal choice really

to me modern motherboards have very good onboard sound--but i am not an audiophile

my onboard sounds pretty good to me in games and movies and music--so personally i wouldnt even consider

dropping £300 on a sound card

would rather drop the cash on a new graphics card or ssd or 2 or something else

its really up to do you think 300 would make such a huge difference to your sound?

see if you can find some independent hardware site reviews on google

i never know whether to believe reviews on amazon as you dont really know who wrote them--bit cynical i know
