Good motherboards and Graphics cards

What do you think is the best motherboard?

I'm building a new PC and I am trying to find out what is the best mother board with crossfire support and Qauad SLI support

THe best is GIGABYTE Gigabyte G1. Sniper 3,it is slightly costlier than the UD5H and sports great features.

The best card that I could find was Sapphire AMD HD7970 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202008 $380
or
Gigabyte HD 7970 GHz edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125439 $450. (A good deal for 1100MHz card)

Why do you wanna have Quad Crossfire or Quad SLI in your system? Just ask yourself will you ever put 4 AMD or 4 nVidia cards in your system in the same time? The cards have to be identical for Crossfire to work.

i sound like a dumb bum but i thought quad sli was 4 memory sticks but it turns out crossfire is 4 memory sticks

I don't quite get what you are trying to say here but if you are thinking that Quad SLI or Quad Crossfire has anything to do with ram then you are wrong. Both SLI and Crossfire (dual/triple/quad) represent how many nVidia and AMD(previously ATI) graphics cards (identical cards) you can in your system at the same time with SLI and Crossfire enabled.

What you may have confused Quad SLI or Quad Crossfire with is Quad Channel Memory.
Quad/Triple/Dual Channel Memory means how many RAM CARDS will be used to process your work at the same time. They will use 4,3,2 cards respectively at the same time.
If you have Dual Channel memory with 3 ram cards installed then your system will work at single channel. For dual channel you need to have 2or 4 cards installed at the same time. For quad channel you need to have 4 or 8 cards installed at the same time.
